Justin is the director and founder of Insurance By Design Pty Ltd and has over 30 years’ of experience in the Insurance Industry. First employed by an underwriting management agency, his career as an insurance broker started in 1994 with an international broker. He has held senior account management and business development positions with 6 years of successfully managing both roles at AB Phillips before starting Insurance By Design in 2006. Justin is also a co-founder of United Insurance Group Pty Ltd and is the director and principal broker of Thunder Insurance Pty Ltd.

Justin is a Senior Associate of ANZIIF and a Certified Insurance Professional. He has a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) and a second Diploma of Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Broking Management).

Justin’s strength is his wealth of knowledge, experience, and his ability to utilise this to provide advice to clients across all industries. His strong focus on customer service and sound business ethics has helped Justin build long-lasting professional relationships.

Gary has over 15 years of experience in broking, became a qualified advisor in 2006 and is a NIBA associate member. He is mainly involved in General Insurance Broking for commercial SME clients and sole traders.

Gary is a co-founder in United Insurance Group Pty Ltd, and joined the Insurance By Design team in 2008 bringing his own insurance business.

Prior to working in broking, Gary was involved in running his own SME business for 20 years and has first-hand experience and understanding of the many and varied issues they deal with every day.

Gary takes pride in providing personal customer service and developing long term relationships with his clients. He is involved in everything insurance related, from new business quotes and funding through to claims management and advice.

Jeff has over 30 years of experience in the Insurance Industry and is mainly involved in General Insurance Broking for Corporate and Commercial Clients.

Over these years, Jeff has been involved in General Insurance Broking, Reinsurance, Risk Surveying, & Underwriting, in both Australia and New Zealand and has worked in senior roles in International Brokingand as a Director in a Local Broking House.

He holds a Tier 1 in both Insurance Broking and General insurance and is a Senior Associate of the Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.

Jeff has a comprehensive understanding of business and service values, is well connected within the insurance industry, and knows that professionalism and trust are paramount to building solid relationships that last.

Ben is the newest member of the team at Insurance By Design, having recently completed his Tier 1 qualification in general insurance broking. Ben joins the team following a 10-year career as a project manager in the building industry, making the transition to insurance in 2021.

Ben also runs a successful music and event booking agency, and provides artist management services. You may even find him performing as a professional musician at functions and events.

Ben’s success comes from his attention to detail while ensuring clients’ needs are always met. Through his work managing large scale projects in the building industry, to managing live entertainment and events, Ben prides himself on his problem-solving abilities. Ben is always motivated to provide the best results for his clients.

Victoria is Justin’s wife and the co-owner of Insurance by Design Pty Ltd & Thunder Insurance Pty Ltd. She has been involved with the business since its inception in 2006 and currently works two days a week doing the accounts, payroll and back office administration. Victoria first started working in office administration at age 16 in a small Roofing business her family owned. She then went on to start her own business, a music studio which has now been running for 31 years teaching Flute, Piano and Music Theory. Victoria also currently works at Mentone Grammar School and Kilbreda Girls College teaching flute & piano.

Victoria has a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics), Bachelor of Arts (Indonesian), AmusA and teaching accreditation for Flute with the Suzuki Talent Education Association of Australia.

Victoria is committed to supporting the continued growth of Insurance By Design by working in the background to improve work practices, maintain office administration and continuously learning about the Insurance industry.
